From Our President, Keith Coates

Welcomto the Rotary Club of Morristown AM Website!  As the club president

for 2017 - 2018, I am proud and excited to be part of Rotary, an International organization with over 1.2 million members in over 35,000 clubs in over 200.

countries.  The mission of Rotary is "to provide service to others, promote integrity and advance world understanding, goodwill and peace through its fellowship of business, professional and community leaders."

Since 1995, the members of the Rotary Club of Morristown AM (the "AM

Club") have striven to meet the demands of this mission in the Lakeway area and across the world.  We have had two ambitious endeavors over the years which are considered to be the club's signature projects,  Those are:

(1) the Christmas Children's Shopping Spree; and

(2) a Golf Tournament, which raises funds for charitable contributions for designated community organizations that work for and benefit children.

Some of the other ways the AM Club has shown support (for our community and the world) are as follows:

  • The Rotary Splash Pad;
  • Hamblen County's Dolly Parton Imagination Library;
  • The Hamblin County Education Exchange at Morristown Central Services;
  • Operation Warmth;
  • Junior Achievement;
  • Arts Build Skills Program at West Elementary and Hillcrest Elementary
  • Davis Homes Library Books and other materials
  • Contributed annually to Rotary International, to help in fighting Polio; and many, many more.

We look forward to continuing to help our community and the world in the future.

I want to encourage you to consider becoming a member of our club.  I assure you that by joining others who live and work in our community and who are dedicated to service above self, it will be very rewarding to you and those that we serve. We meet every Tuesday morning at 7:30 a.m. at The Country Club in Morristown, Tennessee.

If you are unable to consider joining our club at this time I would like to encourage you to help the Rotary Club of Morristown AM by supporting our activities throughout the year.  Whether that means participating in the Christmas Children's Shopping Spree, our Golf Tournament fundraiser in mid May,  it is only with the generous support of our friends that we are able to accomplish our work.
