In July of 1995, a group of Morristown business and professional people met at the United Cities Gas Company on West Andrew Johnson Highway to discuss the formation of a breakfast Rotary Club sponsored by the existing Morristown Rotary Club.  Rotary and its ideals and principles were discussed and the potential members were invited to visit the Noon Rotary Club to see how a meeting was conducted and what the Club goals were.

Following the discussion, attendees decided to organize a morning club, and set a charter date of August 8, 1995.  Don Watson of Morristown Ford was the first president coming from the Noon Club and Bob Calloway of United Southern Bank was chosen as the President-Elect.

The Charter Banquet of the Rotary Club of Morristown AM was held on October 21, 1995 at The Country Club with District 6780 Governor H. Bert Coble in attendance.

The new Club had two ambitious endeavors the first year which became the club's signature  projects.  A Christmas Children's Shopping Spree to take 80 elementary school children shopping at Rose's Department Store.  To pay for the Shopping Spree, members solicited $100 per child from Businesses and individuals in the community.  The second project was a Golf Tournament in the Spring of 1996, to raise funds for charitable contributions for designated community organizations that work for and benefit children.

Other projects the AM Club has supported through the years include the Morristown Police Department's Gang Resistance Education and Training program (GREAT) for Morristown Housing Authority middle school children. The Rotary Splash Pad, a joint project with the Rotary Club of Morristown, City of Morristown and Morristown Utility System, Hamblen County's Dolly Parton Imagination Library, the Hamblen County P-16 Council Teachers Exchange at Morristown Central Services; Junior Achievement elementary pilot program, High School Leadership, as well as support for the Youth Emergency Shelter, Stepping Out, and the United Way of Hamblen County.

On April 27, 2006, the Rotary A.M. Morristown Foundation, Inc. was chartered to facilitate the Club's charitable contributions.
